Data Deletion & Retention
Last updated: September 12, 2025
Glimpsy Camera follows a local-first model. Your photos stay on your device unless you explicitly enable encrypted cloud backup. You remain in control of what is stored and when it is removed.
Delete Data On Your Device
You can remove Glimpsy data from your device at any time:
- Open Settings → Privacy and tap “Delete Local Data” to wipe all albums, photos, and cache from this device.
- Alternatively, uninstalling the app fully removes Glimpsy data stored on the device (permanent and non-recoverable).
Delete Encrypted Cloud Backups (Pro Accounts)
If you upgraded to Glimpsy Pro and enabled encrypted backup:
- Go to Settings → Account → Manage Backup and choose “Stop Backup & Delete Cloud Copy”.
- This immediately pauses sync, queues deletion of your encrypted media from Cloudflare R2, and clears associated metadata in Supabase.
- Deletion is confirmed within 72 hours; audit logs are retained for 30 days for security investigations and then purged.
Request Account Closure & Data Erasure
You may request complete removal of your account, subscription records, and any remaining encrypted media:
- Email privacy@glimpsy.app from the address linked to your Glimpsy account.
- Include your device platform (iOS or Android) and the phrase “Glimpsy Data Deletion Request” in the subject.
- We acknowledge requests within 48 hours and complete erasure within 30 days in line with our documented data ownership policy.
Shared Albums & Guest Content
When you delete local data or disable backup:
- Shared album copies on your device are removed immediately.
- Album owners can revoke share links at any time; revoked links erase guest-uploaded media from shared storage.
- Guests should contact the album owner to remove their contributions. Owners can delete content or revoke links inside the app.
Verification
After a deletion request is processed you receive a confirmation email. We retain only anonymised audit entries (no photos or personal identifiers) for up to 30 days to satisfy security and compliance requirements.
